At Akasya Kape, we celebrate the journey of our coffee from the heart of the Philippines.

Grown in regions like Bukidnon and Benguet, where rich volcanic soil and unique climates create ideal conditions, our beans are carefully cultivated by local farmers.

Through sustainable practices and innovative methods, we aim to bring you the finest coffee that honors both tradition and the land. Discover the origins behind every cup and taste the stories of these remarkable regions.

The Origins

San Roque, Pigtauranan, Pangatucan

Location: Bukidnon, Philippines

Sitio San Roque benefits from rich volcanic soil and a unique microclimate, creating an optimal environment for coffee cultivation.

The mill has got its hands full processing specialty arabica and fine robusta, with cherries pouring in from other parts of Bukidnon. Cherries from various places in the region arrive by foot, bao-bao (tricycle), carabao (water buffalo), or horse in remote areas with no transportation.

Coffees here are washed or naturally processed. The folks at Sitio San Roque have also been experimenting with anaerobic fermentation on the coffee beans. Kalsada has just built a dry mill in Bukidnon. This will boost the coffee's consistency in quality.

Bukidnon is just warming up!

Kisbong, Atok

Location: Benguet, Philippines

The Sitio Kisbong mill was born in 2019, through a partnership between Filipino coffee brand Bo’s Coffee and 14 farmer-families who expressed a willingness to run a mill of their own. Kisbong is approximately 17 kilometers from the central Belis mill and sits on the only flat area in the community.

In 2014, only a couple of farmers could produce 35 to 50 kilos of green beans with unpredictable levels of quality. Now, with its on-location mill, Sitio Kisbong is able to produce at least two tons of specialty grade coffee every harvest.

Yagyagan, Sablan

Location: Benguet, Philippines

The plantation in Yagyagan, Sablan, Benguet originally called El Paraiso Farms, was started in 1934 by Don Jesus Cacho, where he cultivated coffee, fruits, and vegetables. In 2018, the current management of El Paraiso reached out to Kalsada to get support for their crop management and post-harvest technology. Since then, old, unproductive trees in the plantation were rejuvenated and processing was improved, elevating the quality of coffees from this farm.
